Chee Dale

Today's walk took us to Chee Dale near Buxton, Derbyshire. This area of the Peak District is also known as the White Peak with rolling green hills and dales rather than the harsher moorlands of the Dark Peak which is where we normally go.

The River Wye runs through a deep limestone gorge and the scenery is breathtaking with sheer limestone cliffs rising above you. You reach a point along the riverbank where the path disappears and the river completely fills the ravine. Stepping stones have been placed to enable you to continue your journey.
