Biggin Dale

Yesterday we set off in the rain to walk in the White Peak District near Buxton, Derbyshire. Thankfully by the time we parked up at Alsop Moor it had stopped raining. We set off along the Tissington Trail - a disused railway track - a nice gentle stroll to ease us in as we had not walked for a while. After a couple of miles we turned off the trail and walked into the village of Biggin. From there we made our way to Biggin Dale through some beautiful countryside with the limestone rocks climbing high above us. We walked by the River Dove for a while, then up a steep rocky path by the woods, up a steep grassy hill and back onto the Tissington Trail.

We didn't see much wildlife so here are some photos of the farm animals we saw along the way

All in all we walked around 6.75 miles yesterday and boy I can feel it in my legs today :)
